MCS Automation control systems have been installed in all parts of the world by
leading companies in the automotive, food, consumer goods, packaging, timber
products, pharmaceutical, textiles, pottery and plastics industries, and by
operators of industrial and reflow ovens.
Some typical past projects:-
1. PLC control systems for purpose built machines producing timing belts for
a Japanese automotive manufacturer in the USA.
2. Test rigs complete with conveyors etc. using PLC + PC for the automatic
testing of seat frame assemblies for leading car manufacturers. A pass / fail
label, including a bar code, is printed and attached to each frame.
3. PC based controls and software for the manufacture of cast nylon. The
system assists in the calibration of the machine, helps the user specify the
chemical component quantities, controls the temperature of each chemical, and
mixes them in the exact ratios required.
4. PC based systems to measure and record lengths of timber being machined
through a moulding line. The system prints a tally of the nominal length of each
piece, the quantities of each length, and a production report showing output,
machine utilisation and reasons for stoppages. [New Windows
version..]
5. Thermal process control systems including surface mount reflow soldering
ovens, tunnel air circulation batch ovens, and furnaces operating up to 10000C.
Many of these controls are run direct from "Windows" based software.
6. System controlling the mixture of dry
powders, using a PLC with a 'touch screen', to produce large batch quantities of
a popular hot drink.
7. Microprocessor and PC controlled auto-loading lathes for machining rubber brake seals.
8. PC based 16 axis auto-loading drilling machine for manufacturing aluminium table components. [More..]
9. PLC based automatic bag filling line for a sand/gravel quarry.
10. PC based automatic polishing machines for precision linear bearings.
11. PLC based machines for gluing the plastic backing to hand mop sponges.
12. PC based control system for automatically cutting awning and blind material to length.
13. PC based control system for laser cutting
the holes in the leather covering of an "exclusive" mobile phone.
